Internet Safety Experts to Speak at "Get Schooled, Kids and Cyber Security" Event

Internet Safety experts will speak at the “Get Schooled, Kids and Cyber Security” event on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 10:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in The Marshall Center of the Harry S Truman Building of the U.S. Department of State.
The Bureau of Diplomatic Security will host the event that aims to share important risks, mitigation strategies and safety tips to keep kids safe online. The Bureau of Diplomatic Security is the security and law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of State.
Speakers include Enough is Enough President and CEO Donna Rice Hughes; National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Instructor Dr. Sharon Cooper; Internet Solutions for Kids President and Research Director Dr. Michele Ybarra; and Pew Internet and American Life Project Senior Research Specialist Amanda Lenhart. The Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s Director of the Office of Computer Security, Mary Sue Holland, will also speak.
The event is open Tuesday morning, May 3 for press coverage.
Pre-set time for cameras: 9:00 a.m. from the 21st Street entrance.
Final access time for all press: 9:30 a.m. from the 21st Street entrance.
Press will be escorted out of the Marshall Center at 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
