EIE Petitions:
Calling on Big Tech Protect Children on Digital Platforms

Instagram removed Pornhub's Instagram account! This is a huge VICTORY in the fight to dismantle the multi-billion-dollar pornography industry which profits from the exploitation of human beings!

  • Pornhub, the target of numerous lawsuits, survivor and investigative reports (alleging its hosting of child sexual abuse material, filmed rape and sex trafficking content), had 13.1 million Instagram followers

  • EIE's Shut Down Pornhub petition (18.8K signors) is the only petition demanding the U.S. DOJ to investigate and prosecute Pornhub (and parent company MindGeek) for a trifecta of U.S. law violations: child sexual abuse material, sex trafficking content and obscenity!

Instagram unveiled its parental safety control features, which was part of a specific EIE petition request (18.5K signors) following IG's announcement of plans for an "Instagram for Kids Under 13" app.

EIEs petition called on Meta/Facebook, who owns Instagram, to:

  • Permanently abolish the irresponsible plan for a "kid's Instagram"

  • Implement age-verification technology to keep kids under 13 years old off Instagram/Facebook

  • Implement stronger safety protocols for 13 to 17-year-olds on both Facebook and Instagram

  • Develop robust parental control tools for parents.

Meta still has work to do, but we're encouraged to see action resulting from our joint efforts and your voices.

We have made so much progress and are continuing the momentum continue. However, there's still much to be done to achieve EIE's mission to make the internet safer for children and families.

It is due to your partnership and generosity that we can continue to "be there" with a listening ear and a helping hand. Thank you from all of us at Enough Is Enough® for partnering with us in the war. For the sake of the safety and dignity of children in the digital world.
