Backpage.Com siezed by the Feds!

Backpage.com Shut Down as Website Seized by the FBI

A Huge VICTORY for Sex Trafficking Victims, Law Enforcement & Advocates

Friends,

This is HUGE! Just as the weekend got under way, national news broke announcing Backpage.com, the website who has been knowingly facilitating the sale of women and children for sex, has been SHUT DOWN and seized by the feds!

Enough Is Enough® (EIE) has been fighting alongside other advocates and law enforcement to shut down websites who put profit over human dignity, and Backpage has reportedly hosted a majority of the ads enabling sex trafficking. This is a titanic VICTORY! The news broke late Friday (April 6) -- an announcement that came two weeks after the U.S. Senate passed H.R. 1865 (FOSTA-SESTA) which holds websites accountable for knowingly facilitating sex trafficking.

Amending section 230 of the Communications Decency Act was part of EIE's Children's Internet Safety Presidential Pledge and follow up proposal signed by President Trump, who is expected to sign the anti-sex trafficking bill Wednesday.

It was YOUR voice, YOUR action and YOUR support of this critical legislation that has set this domino effect in motion. Within hours of the Senate passing FOSTA, Craigslist removed its "Personals" section, and other sites like Reddit and Erotic Review followed suit! And now, the biggest domino, Backpage, just fell!

This news is great, but our work is far from complete. We have many battles to still fight to end the exploitation of children in the digital world. Please, I urge you, help Enough Is Enough® continue this battle on behalf of children around the country by making your most generous donation today. We cannot go in this alone and we rely on your support to continue our work!

Thank you for continuing to stand with us to on behalf of our nation's children and defend their dignity!
