The bipartisan Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is one of the strongest pieces of legislation geared at protecting children and needs to be passed by Congress this session--that means within the next two weeks. 

KOSA prevents social media companies from using algorithms to promote dangerous content and behaviors including bullying, eating disorders, suicidal behaviors, sexual exploitation, and substance abuse. It would put the onus on social media companies to prevent and mitigate potential harm that could be caused to users under age 17.
