Dianne Florence

Dianne Florence is president of the Virginia Parent Teacher Association (PTA), of which she has been an active member since 1981. Prior to serving as the first President-Elect of the Virginia PTA, Dianne served as PTA Treasurer after having served as the State Bylaws Chairman for four years. Ms. Florence has chaired the Office Building Management Committee, the Administration and Policy Committee, the Budget Committee, the Ad Hoc Committee for District Financing, and served as vice-chairman of the Legislation Committee. During her term as Treasurer, she also chaired the Ad Hoc Committees on District Reimbursement and Executive Committee Representation.

Ms. Florence was also the Strategy Implementation Chairman and was the 2001 Leadership Training Conference Chairman and the 2004 Convention Chairman. In addition to serving on other standing and internal committees at the state level, Ms. Florence was an Assistant Director for Tidewater District. She has also been very active at the local unit and council levels, holding the offices of president, vice-president, and treasurer at elementary, secondary and council levels and chairing various standing committees. Ms. Florence has served on numerous committees of the Virginia Beach Public School System.

Ms. Florence graduated with a bachelor's degree from Longwood College and taught in Virginia Beach City Public Schools. In 1995, she received the Longwood College Distinguished Alumni Community Service Award.
